How do I install the rain gauge?
- Find a flat surface in an open area where you would like to mount the gauge.
- Using the two screws provided, screw the mounting brackets together onto the flat surface.
- Insert the outer rain gauge tube.
- Place the inner measuring tube into the outer rain gauge.
- Place the funnel lid securely on top.
- Ensure rain gauge is mounted straight and vertical.
How much rain can it measure?
This rain gauge can measure up to 250mm of rainfall. It is ideal for light showers or heavy downpours.
Is it accurate?
Yes, it’s highly accurate! The inner tube is clearly marked in 1mm increments, and it’s designed to give precise readings when placed on a level surface and viewed at eye level.
How do I read the measurements?
- Remove the funnel and take out the inner measuring tube.
- Check the level of the water. Hold it upright or place on a flat surface.
- Read the amount of water at eye level. Each number on the tube represents the amount in millimetres (mm).
- If it’s over 25mm, pour the extra water into the tube in parts, counting how many full tubes (25mm) you fill. Then measure the final leftover amount.
- Record your result, empty the tube, and put everything back in place.
